Aleatha KhielSelah, Owner

I love to read and have a passion for teaching others to read.

I came up with the idea for the Study Hall after learning the shocking fact that 92% of Black Milwaukee Public School students routinely perform below proficient levels in reading. Furthermore, 70% of Black MPS students performed below the basic skill level in reading.

As a mother of two young Black boys, I am sensitive to the important role that literacy plays in academic and lifelong success.

It is my wish to have a positive presence and impact in the community by sharing the skills that I have with others.

The Study Hall is my service to the community that I have been able to call home for the past ten years.

No one will do for you what you need to do for yourself. We cannot afford to be separate. We have to see that all of us are in the same boat.
